hi guys

I bought a new Zen Vision M  : 30 GB from play.com for £150 on the 22nd October 2007, it was advertised as having a year's warranty.

The player recently began developing problems so i have been talking to creative tech support, after giving them the serial number they have said the unit is refurbished and so only comes with a 90 day warranty! Creative have said to talk to play.com but i'm really fucked off if i've paid full price for a refurb unit and have only found out not i need to use the warranty ...

i will speak to play.com soon ...

talk to play.com and demand that they replace your mp3 player. They advertised 1 year warranty, they have to stick to it. If they give you shit, threaten legal action under both civil and criminal law. By selling a refurb as a new unit they defrauded you.

Also contacting a consumer rights group would be a good idea.

When dealing with this sort of thing, bringing out the big guns is usually the best way.

so i rang play.com and said what is up and she said we can probably offer a refund if you send it back so she got onto the supervisor and it's getting picked on up tuesday morning, send back there and refunded ... profit i suppose still feel a bit cheated that i was sold a refurb as brand new ... but it's never come up before now
