COINTELPRO's incompetence and legal mishaps led to no conviction for Ayers, so even though what Ayers's group did was very wrong, you probably should focus some of your concern on why and how the government was able to botch the investigation of the charges made against Ayers.
Anyway, 30 years after the fact seems like an odd time to make a big deal out of this. Also, just because Obama knows this guy personally certainly doesn't mean he agrees with his past radical ideology. I mean, think about it.
