QWest DSL was down for around the past week, so I got cable. Modem's installed, this computer works online (der).
The other one is getting a 'Limited or No Connectivity' error. The CAT5e I crimped tests out fine on the cable tester and on this rig, and the hub shows activity on both rigs, so scratch that. I've tried to turn the power off on the cable modem and problem PC, and tried starting them up again. Uninstallation/reinstallation of network drivers, disable in bios, boot, uninstallation of drivers, reboot, reboot, enable in bios, installation of drivers fails, as well as repair and trying to set up the problem rig to work off a hub or directly from the cable modem. 'Ipconfig /reset' fails.
The cable modem guy mentioned the installation of a 'signal inhibitor' on the coax wall socket, but that could hardly be the issue when the cable's functional and one computer will work, but not the other or both...
I'm in the process of scouring Google for similar cases, but I've been up for 18 hours and this is cutting into my sleep time. Has anyone else encountered this?
ASUS A8V Deluxe
WinXP SP2

Downloading to see if it resolves the issue, but it's an old release and should've already been on there.
