Has anyone ever sold parts on eBay before?  I've never done it.  Any pointers for me?

To sell:

AMD Athlon 64 3400+
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe
A 500W PSU

I've sold parts on eBay before:

1) Provide as much description as possible

2) If you have warranty on the product, list it.

If it is a cpu, memory or VGA.  Don't be afraid to say that you are not going to accept a return if they damaged it by overclocking.

Sell it all in a bundle. Shouldn't be hard to find someone looking to build their grandma a rig.

Helps to have all your original packaging, too.

I can get around $50 for the CPU alone though....

Ya that is all good stuff.  Also put lots of good pictures on there.  I've had good luck selling parts.  I upgraded my machine from a amd 4200, nvidia 8800 gt, DFI Lanparty Mobo, 2 gb of OCZ ram to e8400, ati 4870, 2 gb OCZ reaper ram, and a Gigabyte x48.  After it was all said and done the upgrade only cost me $125.  You can make some suprisingly good money on old parts.

that's really impressive.

i am really looking forward to making money off this, i need the cash for a 4870 and perhaps a better airsoft gun.

Warranties on parts are non-transferable, and also eBay is not a valid retailer so the warranty on a new product is null and void, so there is no reason to state that it is under warranty. If you have ever bought anything on eBay that said it had a warranty, you got scammed.
yeah i kind of thought that unless there was a double-warranty it couldn't be transferred...

really? That actually sounds right.  Thanks for correction.

I don't buy hardware on ebay but I do sell it.  All of my products I've sold were way to old anyways, no warranty.

If you have 0 feedback, say that in the auction. Make your preferred payment Paypal and state "US/UK buyers only." (ie no Nigerians - but don't say this) Also say that people with 0 feedback should contact you before placing a bid. Take pictures and write maturely.

60+ 100% positive feedback for me here..

Why would I want to advertise I have no feedback?  Wouldn't that be a bad thing?

Also, I'm using my dad's account here.  He buys a lot on eBay and has a good rating, but has never sold anything so he has no seller ratings.

Everybody has to start some where.

Its okay to say that this is your first time selling something on ebay.

Just assure the buyers that you are trustworthy, (I know everybody does this) but since your dad already has good buyers rating, it should help a little

Tell them not to hesitate to contact you for any questions.

Give them shipping options, like through UPS or USPS or Fedex for example.
