24" monitors

I want to upgrade my 19" monitor to a 24" wide screen.

I am looking at this one at the moment. LG-W2452T http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec … ?LG-W2452T

It has a high contrast ratio 10,000:1 but apart from that I don't know it its any good.

I dont want to spend anymore than £240.

yeah but i read something (cant remember where) that most LCD manufacturers are now using a different standard of measuring contrast just so that they have beefier numbers, and that most companies have switched to doing that instead of doing it the standard way or something...

haffey is right, there is no set standard for measuring contrast ratio so you should not judge the quality of a monitor by it. 10,000:1 my ass.

ok I have found out what it is its a dfc ratio which is a technology that lg introduced to their monitors.

At least that's what I think it said.

I have a 21" Samsung and it's got a 3000:1 The blacks look like black and I don't see how it could get any better.
