Simple question...

I guess we can only use hypothetical situations..do you think that Nuclear War is inevitable in the future or just political threat?

For example, if a major crisis did occur that revived Cold War tensions and the exchange of nuclear weapons was reality do you think that countries would actually use them? or do you think they're used solely as a threat and that leaders would never risk the fatal consequences of Nuclear War?

Nuclear Weapons is one of the very few (if only) weapons than can kill a Politician whilst they sit comfortably in their fucking palaces. Therefore, said Politicians will always be scared of them. Therefore they won't use them. They're willing to send other people to fight normal wars in other places far away but if there's a chance of it hitting home and killing them they'll "pursue" dialog as much as possible. Afterall, they're the biggest cowards on Earth.

Nuclear war no, Chem/Bio yes.

Nukes are more of a political weapon than a military weapon.

The use of nuclear weapons would result in M.A.D. Governments want to ensure their survival to further their political goals.

Now a terrorist nuclear device being used could be a possibility, but resulting in a Nuclear war, not likely.

There was a documentary called "Appocolispe" or something. Anyway it was about that UN or EU training excercise in Eastern Europe, using dummy nukes. And the Russians panicked and actually put the keys in the button. They interviewed a guy who had his hand on the button to launch like 1000 nukes.

So whats to keep the nukes from advancing closer and closer towards the home country of the two(or more) warring states. If a few thousand troops are vaporized, whats to keep that country from retaliating by taking out a city?

As mentioned above, it could all end in a bang the power to detonate a bomb got in the wrong hands.

Imagine if people like Hitler or Napoleon could have used the bomb. Although there would inevitably be an almost instantaneous retaliation, a twisted, power-hungry, paranoid and obsessive personality on both sides could well exist and their common sense prolly is non-existent.

A few, of a real big lot of them. Even so, hitler grabbed the right opportunity. A powerful nation bitter about their defeat, in ruins - he riled them all up. All you need is a fairly powerful nation to lose a war and come in the same situation and a nutter like Hitler could easily take control.

Other than that, there are numerous not so powerful politicaly unstable nuclear powers that could make dramatic events happen.
