quick question, which will perform better, a 7900gt or an 8600gt?
inb4 someone says 7900 and then freezer says "since the new 8600 drivers..."
or we can just cut to the chase and save me some trouble searching. what is the cheapest dx10 card that is comparable in performance to the 7900gt?
In b4 I say I have both and 8600 is faster.

wait, do you really have both? and is the 8600 really faster?DeathUnlimited wrote:

Really? Because the 8600 gets some piss poor reviews, whereas the 7900 was a decent gaming card.DeathUnlimited wrote:

Unless you're really strapped for cash, you should get the HD 4850. I just upgraded to it from a 7900gs (factory OC even) and was completely blown away by the performance increase, even with a crappy brisbane cpu. It's well worth the $170.

keep in mind the 7900 came out a while before the 8600 series. the 8600 series was a disappointment, but the 8600 will be better than a 7900.ghettoperson wrote:

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
I do have the lower clocked edition of 7900GT, but even after OC test the 8600 outperformed it. I am not to say the certain truth, and I never really gamed much on that 7900GT. This is in 3dmark06.ghettoperson wrote:

OC'd to where I got them, the 8600GT would get 5986 points and the 7900GT 5427.

I'm sure if he was willing to spend more, he woud just go for an 8800GT.GGF0RCE wrote:
