I have a sneaky feeling R* might be planning a kick in the balls for microsoft by doing something very GTA-esque that may well overshadow 360 elcusive DLC....
Or maybe not

I doubt it. Highly.

No way does Rockstar do that after what MS payed. No way in hell.

And if it for some reason does happen, MS will go into temper-tantrum mode.

It is kinda what R* would like to do. They're no strangers to causing controversy, it just gives their games a lot of free publicity. Well it might not be GTA like, but I def think it will be geared to create a fuss

But they still end up making less money. And what would be stopping them from putting the game on multiple DVDs?
that would cost more
Last time I checked two dvds costed a bit less than a single Blu Ray disk.

And yeah, Rockstar like turning a profit, which is why they didn't go with Microsoft's money offer to make GTA4 360 exclusive.

Oh and bennis, you have no idea what Rockstar would like to do tbh. As mentioned in another thread, maybe they plan on doing a game on Niko's past in the Yugoslav Wars......

God damn, two disappointments from Rockstar. The guys behind the original Max Payne aren't making 3 and they're working on a PS3 exclusive.

Last time I checked a Blu Ray disc had 5 times the capacity of a dual layer DVD.

So it's an adventure game with the story/setting of a Raymond Chandler novel?

If I had a PS3 I'd get it.

I've never bothered checking tbh. Why the hell would a game dev want that much storage space anyway?

Erm would that not be a GTA-esque game which I'd already said they might do,  good going trying to make me look dumb by backing up my point after telling me I dont know what I'm talking about...

Could it possibly be another part in the Manhunt series? I thought Manhunt was very very underrated. It's a dark, twisted, scary, stealth game that keeps you on the edge-of-your-seat. No way. There is a reason they didn't make Manhunt 2 with PS3/360 HD graphics.

higher quality textures. Higher poly models. Higher quality sound. More content.

Pretty much those reasons.

Indeed. It would definately get a banned in UK and the ban would very unlikely be removed this time. Banned in Aussie for sure. Probably get banned in America too.

So basically they are going to make games bigger, when the most successful 'console' of this generation is a massive departure from that kind of games development (Wii).

@ Bennis, umm, how would Niko's experiences in the Yugoslav wars be a GTA-esque game? It could be an fps, or a Mercs style open world military themed game. It would just have a character from GTA4.

Maybe it's a sequel to Bully. That was a funny game.

Oh dear oh dear flecco. How old are you? Cos you seem to be unable to grasp things a twelve year old could follow. Do R* have much of a history of FPS games? And Mercs is basically GTA in a warzone. Throw Niko into the mix and you have something to overshadow GTA4 DLC on the 360, which is exactly what I said....

Plus Villham never said they'd make games bigger, jus that they'd be way more detailed. You're point about the Wii kinda fails as well. The Wii is a casual games machine, the PS3 is seen as a much more serious machine, so why the hell would devs make wii style games for something thats seen as the opposite end of the spectrum in gaming terms?

No, they don't have a history of FPS, but it's not like Lemmings and GTA are in the same genre either... Mercs isn't GTA in a warzone, ever played it? It's not nearly as freeform, that's something only rockstar has nailed so far. Oh and don't bother with personal attacks, k. That's for D&ST.

The Wii sells. Something common to all businesses is that they like to turn a profit. As evidenced by the existence of 'Eyedentify', 'Eyepet' and the Singstar games, hell even LBP is something that would probably seem more at home on the Wii.

Lastly, more detail isn't necessarily a good thing. GTA4 is evidence of that. The older GTA games are more fun. Maybe dev teams should concentrate on gameplay rather than detail. Anyway, I'm not saying more room is a bad thing, just that it's not really needed to make a good game, Ocarina of Time is pretty small by today's standards and is great.

Yeah I have played mercs, its extremely free-form. In many a review it was described as GTA in a war zone, which I agree with.

GTA4 didnt really have more detail, it was only enough to take up a single dvd, not really more detail, just higher res textures. I agree more detail doesnt make a great game, but having the ability to put on more detail can lead to a truly stunning game.

Not really. As I said, Rockstar's team that did GTA4 was also responsible for Lemmings apparently, so what's to stop them making an FPS?

Just looked up Rockstar North. Space Station Sillicon Vally ftw.

Find a cracked version of Hired Guns then. They made it in 1993. You'll need at least 1MB of ram to run it though. Old skool.
