My sound card is giving me trouble lately. It's not detecting the jack's that i plug in to my system correctly. I'm using a realtek sound card and the realtek control panel. I have my speakers plugged into the back of the machine. And i plug my headset in the front when i need to use it. For one the control panel shows that theres a jack plugged in the red socket at the back of the pc. When their isn't. And when i plug my mic in the front of my pc into the red jack. It says i put it into the green jack. This is probably confusing but all you need to know is that my sound card isn't identifying the jacks correctly. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't it's completely random.

+1 for any help on this!

Try updating the driver? I dunno. I'm using the Realtek thingy too and it's never given me any problems. Are you suuuuure you're plugging stuff into the right jacks? Also, can't you adjust the outputs in the manager anyway? (like you plug something into the black plug, but tell it that it's the front and not the rear).
