If I was black would I still have to have red hair?
I don't mind any combination as long as the red hair is maintained.

What about the freckles
I don't have any freckles, just a few 'pseudo-freckles' on my forearms.

I can't tell if the question is REALLY bigoted, or really, really clever in pointing out that it's bigoted of those of use who point out that maybe it's bigoted. Either way, Black atheist.

I would disagree, religious people always seem a little weaker mentally in my opinion. And give me a non religious chick over a religious chick any day of the week... you know what I'm talking about! Can't have any of that 'Catholic guilt' ruining the vibe!

It is that "weaker mentality" that I am in reference to.  To feel that life is everlasting, your actions have meaning and that a power greater than you can dictate your being must be a powerful incentive to seek religion.  It also seems to me that common sense must be ignored to truly believe in many of the most popular religions today.
As far as the religious chick argument, I am currently dating a preachers daughter.  Gotta get back at Daddy somehow, and it may as well start on the end of my pole.

It's pretty much a case of ignorance is bliss. The few religious people I know seem happier in general, but compared to me that's nothing special. As a pretty logical and realist sorta guy, the world aint making me happy for the long periods of time religious people seem to have.

Religion has been cause of more loss of life than anything we have ever created.

The bullet.

I wish I could just narrow my mind down a bit and let religion in so I could be happier. Just can't do it...

I consider this the most reasonable response to this thread (besides my own, of course; i'm just amazing fyi) because it isn't saying "I'm better than you" as the message behind most of the others ones is.

I can see why certain people who are Christian, Muslim, or Jewish take that "holier than thou" attitude, because this bigotry crap you have deal with otherwise is fuckin' annoying.

Yet again, being atheistic in no way makes you areligious. You still have religious beliefs (atheism being chief among them).

I suppose you could call the beleif that there is no God a religion in itself. But Athiesm isn't exactly organised in any way, infact I don't know who the smart ass was that decided to call it Athiesm and make it sound like a religion. I prefer the word non-religious or not-so-religious

The funny thing is, is that most people here are not Atheist, they are Agnostic.

What about no belief either way?

The only people that make it sound like a religion are people who are confused as to what a religion is and as to what atheism is - it's not believing there is no god, it's not believing either way, and being perfectly happy that way.  I don't wonder whether God is there or not - I don't "know" that God is there or not - I don't care whether God is there or not.  I don't care whether you think God is there or not.

I've yet to see someone claim to be areligious (what seems to best describe your situation)---as that is an entirely different thing than atheism or agnosticism. The semantics of the words and the prefix is what leads one to make the previously noted claim. I'm similar in a way that I mentioned in a previous discussion (I believe with you as well) that the ones perception of the existence of a deity or not doesn't really matter...toooooo meeeeeeeeeeeeeee (Queen reference, for those who didn't pick up on it)

There's nothing wrong with being a religion. Look at Buddism, that doesn't have the crazy rap that scientology (not even going to capitalize it) or the poor reputation Christianity or Islam have attained in the eyes of much of the world. People here act as if there is some huge dividing line between "religious people (those crazy folk)" and themselves. You can be a perfectly normal, logical, scientific (hell, that's what my career is going to be based on), rational individual and still be a member of an organized religious group, if you so choose. You're not forced to believe anything they say. It's what you hold as probable that is important. In the context of this poll, I guess I am "religious" but it doesn't play a big role in my life beyond a blank line to be filled in on some form or profile. I've thought a great deal about the subject and accepted some aspects whilst wholly rejecting others. The labels "Christianity", "Islam", or "atheism" are just blank pallates to be filled in by you. You don't need someone to tell you what you think. Very few people can be pidgeon-holed into the stereotypical images of those labels, just look at the people here.
