If you’ve fallen in love with the MacBook Air but just can’t stand the thought of muddling through OS X, becoming a snooty Mac user, or suffering through Apple’s skin-deep quality and often-shoddy workmanship, Samsung is aiming its .66-inch-thin X360 laptop directly at you.

This 13.3-inch laptop weighs a mere 2.8 pounds and shines where the MacBook Air skimps: It’s the inputs, stupid. How’s three USB ports (compared to the Air’s 1), a 7-in-1 card reader (compared to the Air’s none), HDMI and Ethernet ports (no such thing on the Air), VGA input, and of course, Wi-Fi and a 1.3-megapixel camera sound?

Best yet, a couple of our buddies have laid their hands on this beauty and tell us it’s solid as a rock. Now if Samsung can just beat that MacBook Air price — which should be easy to do — it’ll make the MacBook Air look like it’s for AirHeads. Still no optical drive, though Just a cheap slot DVD reader would do more than well. Oh well, not that it really matters on something that awesome.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I would say via USB key. Theres XP USB edition available, other software shouldn't be a problem.

Here I was thinking all it is is a paperweight. Gaming laptop? lol. I'm not dissing it - in fact, I've been thinking about getting a MacBook or similar and this has intrigued my interest, just saying..

The top looks epic, but apart from that the Air is waay nicer looking

I think the Sammy looks nicer, but I wouldn't buy a laptop based on looks, FFS. The Samsung has more inputs and a card reader. I haven't checked the hardware yet, but I'm going to bet it's nicer than the Air's at a better price.

The only reason to buy that stupid thing would be for attention.

People say that this is awesome because it'll likely be comparatively inexpensive, and it'll have very decent connectivity options.

Well, technically speaking that too, since the Samsung has an ethernet port and the Mac doesn't.
