He's served on the Foreign Relations committee.  Yes.  And Bidens the chairman.

Real experienced.
She's run a state goverment almost as long as Obama has been a Senator.
Yeah, Alaska, real important state there.

Does she have any foreign policy experience at all?  I'm not sure.
Yea, Team Obama might want to stay away from bringing up the whole foreign policy experience issue.

Was experience an issue before? It's obvious that they are trying to expand their base. I think it's safe to say McCain has got the experienced thing locked down.
I don't. The whole idea of picking a VP is to pick someone who's experienced enough to handle the job in case you go down.

In McCain's case, considering his age and health, I'd consider the chance of that happening to be somewhat likely. So he picks someone with hardly any experience who's, imo, DEFINITELY not prepared to lead?

If Obama went down, Biden could do the job. But if McCain went down, I don't think Palin could do the job. That's what's important.
The whole idea is to bring more voters to your side (Politics 101). Banking on the death certificate down the road is silly. You were just talking about what a VP candidate should bring to the table. The obvious move is to choose a candidate that can pick up the political slack. Clearly that's what McCain did and in effect played Obama's own words against him (a fresh face). Me thinks your judgment is a tad bit biased here.

Btw McCains health is great.
You wouldn't need to bank on McCain dying if he wasn't unhealthy. But he is. He's gone through years of torture, had melanoma, and he's old.

Yes, of course a VP candidate should bring something to the table. Biden does that. Palin does not. Biden's got many years of Washington experience. Palin does not. Biden has GREAT foreign policy experience. Palin does not (as far as I know).

I don't even think Palin's going to bring many voters to McCain's side.

What?  That's one of their strongest issues this election.

Doubts about Barack Obama's presidential credentials have crystallized during the past two weeks over his stewardship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's Subcommittee on European Affairs, which has convened no policy hearings since he took over as its chairman last January.

Maybe you should read the hundreds of article that report his clean bill of health. His melanoma was completely cured. They can do that nowadays.

Biden's got many years of Washington experience? Isn't that what 90% of what Obama has been preaching against (The tired old politics of Washington).  I dare the Obama camp to start talking experience.. I double dog dare them... Pit-fall.

Sorry bud, this was an awesome move. Perfectly played.

From your own source

"Biden effectively exploited the chairmanship to transform himself from a junior member into one of the Senate's most knowledgeable experts on arms control, nuclear weapons, European attitudes toward America and the Soviet Union, the European Union's policies, and the role of NATO,"

Obama doesnt have much experience.  No shit.  Where's your outcry over this Palin chick though?  Double standards ftl.

Yes, I know what they can do with skin cancer, Kmar. My father had it too and had his removed after they took out an entire portion of his (I think) left cheek. I don't care if it's removed. It's the fact that he's had it, combined with being tortured and being old. You really think his doctors are going to tell the public that "he's not in great shape" even if he was? Come on.

Ummmm no.  Hillary was saying she was better only because she had more experience.  So did McCain.  Obama said you dont need experience.  Which is true.

Biden is not your average senator.  You know he's got the lowest income in the Senate?  He hardly represents what Obama wants to change about Washington.

Yeah, mayor of a town of 5,000 before becoming Governor IIRC.

Real experienced.
She's run a state goverment almost as long as Obama has been a Senator.
And, the MAJOR point here is that she has 2 years of EXECUTIVE branch experience ... which is more than Obama, McCain, and Biden have combined.

And I would like to point out that the reason why Senators rarely win the White House, in my opinion, is because being a Legislator is a different job than running a Government ... "yes" they are connected and "yes" they are political, but they are different.  Governors >>>> Senators for the Presidency.

Yeah ... unless we change our constitution, Arnie can't be President or VP.

By the way, a very good executive is the former Va Governor, Mark Warner (D).  Great business sense, great leadership skills, great organizational skills ... but his wife didn't want him to run this year, so now he is running for the Senate.
