Would it be possible give give the hitboxes in BF2 a texture, or otherwise make them visible, so they show up in-game? I've been trying to do things like TVing moving choppers, sniping sprinting infantry, ATing cars, etc but I'm left guessing where to aim. I'm tired of wasting ammo while I work out which bit of air to shoot at.

Obviously this is not for online play, but it would be nice to have it for a singleplayer/offline game so I could get a better idea of where to aim instead of "somewhere behind them".

best thing to do is practice a bit in a chopper server and just watch the hitboxes and learn them.

whats the point when offline and single player hitboxes are inside the models?

Impossible to re create unless online, there is no laggy hitboxes on SP bf2, search youtube, im sure i found a youtube vid of a "laggy hitbox bf2" vid.

I used BF2E editor, it puts the basic graphics so you can see what's happening, these weren't taken in game.

The hitboxes in singleplayer should be spot on as you are not connected to the internet, However I feel some of those images of the chopper/jet hitboxs are incorrect, just keep practicing mate and you will get it

Ye practice is key. Just 1v1'ing a friend in an empty server gives you an idea about the hitboxes, both on jets and choppers. But we all know they are inconsistent, like firing a TV though the nose of a chopper and it passing through it. Hakei's diagrams are pretty accurate, so thats a good indication of what they look like.

They're not diagrams...They're from the core BF2 files.

Hitboxes are actually consistent, you just need to learn where they are (I know for instance where they lay on a chopper evading in a number of ways)

Yea. Those diagrams are great and all, but thats not what the OP is asking. He's where the hitbox is when it lags behind the actual player/vehicle model. I don't know how accurate this is, but I usually tend to see the hitboxes as about a unit behind what ever you're shooting at behind what ever direction it's heading in. By unit, I mean what ever you're shooting at, the hitbox is the space of that model behind the direction its going. For example, say you're trying to snipe a player who is simply strafing to your left. You take the width of a player model and aim that much to the right (behind the direction hes moving).

Care to expand on that, IE your name?

I've been having amazing packet loss over the last week of gaming, so if you were evading I was probably chuffed I managed to hit you. Also if you was in a jet (I TVed a few last night) it may have been a lulz shot (One of my shots was aiming for a APC when a J10 passed in front).
