So. Probably for the last time in 4 years I'll be upgrading. My graphics card is starting to pack in so that's definitely the main priority. I also however need a new screen. Flat screen, 22" preferred.

My Specs:
  • Intel C2D E6400 @ 2.13GHz
  • Asus P5LD2 Motherboard
  • Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic
  • Hitachi 160GB HDD
and a shitty CRT. Although I only say shitty because it will be shitty with no deskroom at Uni Anyway, I'm looking for the best bang for buck graphics card and screen out there at the mo. I'm wanting to spend the least money but go for a reputable brand, as this really has to last.looking at:
  • Radeon HD 4870
  • Radeon HD 4870X2 (at a stretch)
  • GeForce 9800GTX

HD4870 and a CPU cooler. You will not take the full advantage of such a nice GPU if you are on a stock E6400. It screams an Overclock.

already have the CPU cooler. It's a beast, but I'm not really wanting to overclock again.

I had it at 2.8GHz one time, that's the mobo max.

Well, at stock it will bottleneck the new graphics card.
