Amazing isn't it? Everyone is looking to get out of harms way now, except the illegals who will stay behind and bitch that they are not being taken care of, but will not go to central location t obe evacuated because they fear immigration will catch them...Only in America.

With Katrina Nagin didn't ordered the mandatory evac 18 hours before the storm. As someone who has experience evacuating before storms I can tell you that is not enough time for a city that big. Especially when you don't have the means. It is true that people became complacent after years of free passes. But the evacuation issue had a lot to do with poor local leadership.
