I recently uploaded to a 10mbps down and up connection. While running utorrent my max upload speed reaches about 1 megabyte per second. However when I try to send one file to my friend through aim/xfire/utorrent, it usually maxes out at about 100 kBps. His download speed is around 12 mbps, so that is not the cause of the problem. Is it not possible to send someone a file at more than 100 kBps?
what is your xfire upload rate set at?
EE (hats
Maximum
Sometimes depending on where the connection goes through, it can be slow. Even though he may have a 12mbps download speed, and you have 10mbps up, that doesn't mean that he should be able to download at 10mbps, I have never found any server or any p2p that will max out my connection, it just doesn't happen.
Try uploading the file to a hosting server, and letting him download it through there, you might have a faster connection.

Make sure his download speed isn't capped, in settings or whatever.
Does he live a long distance away?

It's not, but he's in Florida and I'm in Texas.CrazeD wrote:

Well there you go, from the different servers and access points and ISP's you have to go thorugh, that is likely the fastest you will get. Like I said, upload it to a file hosting site and let him dl it from there.aimless wrote:
