Not that Fallout and Far Cry won't be good, but when the original fallouts and SS2 are cheaper and in many ways better, I'd suggest getting them first.

You can spend hours just mutilating dead enemy soldiers (if thats your thing )
Failing that, Doom 1 or 2. That will keep you going for quite a while. Largest SP game Ive ever known.
