Agreed. New Orleans, with it's "bowl" location etc.. should've been wiped out a long time ago when it was a simple colonial settlement. Or even before that, it should've just been a "no-go" area in general where you just don't want to start up a settlement. Like survival of the fittest or something, the city should have never made it to the level of where it is now (which is, quite a big developed city)

Read the history.. then you might understand the importance of the location. Even today 90 percent of our nations domestic oil and natural gas comes from the coast of LA.

I was in LA two weeks after Katrina. Believe it or not NO's was actually on the weaker side of the storm then. That is not the case with Gustav (the fastest winds will be on the right side)... this could be really bad.
