It's not too hard to see our own interfering hand in that particular mess. Just try and see things from the enemies pov.
I do. You however have got a problem seeing things from our own defensive point of view. Making nice with other friendly sovereign nations is not the same as flying bombers over Russian territory. You've become an apologist ATG. Sanity lies somewhere between the overbearing neocon hand and living in the fear of offending the Russian bear. That sure isn't the way we fought them back during the last cold war.
OH come on now, the similarities between Iraq/US and Georgia/Russia is clear. Russia has nukes and the US has nukes. They get to do what they want. These are big boys playing in the big game and that's why every time another nation wants to develop nukes there is a huge stink because that another country with nukes reduces the number of countries that can be invaded by one. You get one less weakling and one more bully on the block.

Denying the hypocrisy of the Iraq war and trying to say that the Georgia conflict is different is pure BS. A  14 year history of sanctions from the UN still did not justify the Iraq invasion, fact is that the UN did not join in the invasion. And the same thing will happen again here with Georgia, talk talk  and more BS talk of kicking Russia out of the G8. ROFL. Russia's response will be "turn the oil spigot on, turn the oil spigot off, repeat, repeat repeat. Truth is that nothing will happen because Russia has nukes. If you want someone to blame for this fiasco, blame Bush for pushing NATO and missile shield in the region and for building up the Georgian army. Just think if this situation were reversed and the Russians were putting missile shields in El Salvador, Columbia, Panama or Cuba and getting those countries to join the Warsaw pact. tell me that the US wouldn't run down there and invade. We've already been in there for a lot less reason.

Besides its all a game of international chess. you move here and I say, you're bad you need an international time out, you're not listening now you need a military spanking, oh crap you could spank me back, I guess I'll let you off with a warning until I can get a coalition of others to help me spank you, oh crap no one wants to help but I really hate you and if I fight you I'll get hurt and wreck my economy but I really hate you so let's fight at 3:30 on the playground. Does that provide some perspective?Does that sound like the Iraq war?  That's right they are just a bunch of dumb ass kids in the play ground where there are no teachers and only a few bullies.

If you ask me, the reason for all this is simple, Putin is ex? KGB and Bush senior is ex CIA (W is just senior's bitch). these guys and others want to return to the bipolar world of two super powers, where the people of the world lived in daily fear of MAD. Its all like a stupid nostalgic amusement park "Welcome back to the cold war." The only problem for these idiots is that since the iron curtain fell the Russian people and the American people have met and we both realize that our leaders were power hungry idiots. I don't think the fear mongering will work anymore.

Are there similarities in the fact that it is a geopolitical game? Yes. Are they the exact same circumstance? No (thank you for pointing that out in your post btw) You wasted a good five minutes of my life pointing out the blatantly obvious.

Saddam broke intenational law for 14 years. Arming Chechnen thugs and sneaking into a neighboring country while the world is focused on "the games" is nowhere near the same thing. OH come on now. How is this obvious difference escaping you?

Russia was offered inclusion with the missile shield (radar stations and ten interceptor missiles). Wanna put that in Cuba? Have a ball .

A video of marines killing a wounded Iraqi is irrelevant considering what we are discussing here? I just think it made you uncomfortable.
Maybe that's what you hoped for but it didn't. War is hell and your style of "shock posting" has come to be expected. You exploit the despicable behavior of a few bad apples to further your argument. Thats despicable all in itself.
China is no buddy of Russia. Mayhaps I am not the simpleton here.

Do you actually believe half the stuff you write? Shall I begin pointing out their Security council voting record? The things that actually matter. Well, more than a Russian blogger at least.

Russia snuck in while while the US was/is stuck in a quagmire. The US in Iraq is like Russia's experience in Afghanistan, which was in fact Russia's Vietnam, which was the US's Vietnam which is now the US's experience in Iraq. Is that a clear difference for you? I guess you could call it the quagmire gambit. The more things change the more they stay the same. The Russians moved while the US is bogged down, "check," its your move next chief.

Its all a game and people need to stand back to gain perspective. If you pick a side and put blinders on then you are simply abdicating your god given free will to a bunch of power hunger A$$holes. I think that child psychology has a lot to teach us about international politics. I only wish our countries would start acting like adults.

I know my countries history probably better than you think. However, when we start dumbing down the discussion and writing off all other mitigating factors we cut ourselves short of understanding the full truth. It is important to recognize all similarities as well as the differences. There is no doubt in my mind that it is a chess game. Hasn't this world always been?

The UK needs to develop more independent policies. I don't want that French fucking Sarkozy and his fucking EU and then the US, and then NATO to control everything this country does. It was only almost 70 years ago that this country was fighting for its freedom from the Mainland European cunts and now it's all going to be undone.

No it's quite different, whilst you Americans and your Government love to ridicule and hate on the Middle East/various countries whilst you buy and use their oil, only our Government want to bitch about Russia. Most of us here want our own internal problems solved first and foremost. It's quite different, actually.
