so i got this new CPU cooler last weekend and i installed on my computer
the installation was pretty hard to do but i did it
i got the Zalman CNPS8700 NT cooler, it seems nice and it got good reviews too.
but when i checked the temperature i saw that it didn't reduce it that much much, it when from 71C to 60C, so i thought it wasn't a good number.
here's my rig
CPU: Q6600 stock speed
mobo: Asus P5kC
audio: creative sound blaster x-fi xtreme audio
video card: 8800GTS 320mb
HDD: 250GB western digital
memory: 2GB of RAM OCZ
Case: 900 antec gaming case
PSU: 500w PSU
so i would really like to get more out of this cooler since it supposed to be much better than the stock one
so can some one guide me through it?

I hope those temps you posted are Load temps and not idle.  I would think a q6600 in a 900 case would be cooler than that.
what kind of thermal paste did you put on?  did you put it on correctly? > instructions.
the key to utilizing a cooler to its full potential is getting the thermal paste applied correctly, and having decent case flow.

I googled that cooler and the 2nd hit is tomshardware and it didnt get that great of a review. >_<
If your not happy with the cooler, then I would recommend the thermalright ultra120 with a scythe SFF21F fan.

Yes you can, by putting it in a car, for example
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Be careful however

I had a video card monitoring program which actually turned off the fans on my video card every time it ran.......found out the hard way :<

i was so going to get the thermalright 120, but i couldn't find it anywhere in canada beside tigerdirect but i dont own a credit card to buy items online.
i bought that fan but i dont know where to install it, i haven't decide whether to install it on the left side of the case or replace one of the fans that i already have with this one.
and it was load temperature.

Well, 60C is acceptable for a load temp on Q6600, It is not very good, but ain't going to damage the CPU either.

^ agreed!

Temps look good there.  There is a thread in the coretemp forums about what the TJmax should be set to. no one knows for sure yet, but it sounds like it should either be 100 or 95.  If it does turn out to be 95, you'll find your temps will be lower than what its reading now. you can adjust tjmax in the settings.
