to make this all really simple I want to use my computer as my blu ray player for my home theater(I got a blu Ray drive from my uncle for free because the place he ordered his from shipped him two when he order one) My plan it to get a VGA Cable(or DVI to HDMI) to go from my pooter to my TV Then to get sound I will get an adapter that will switch the headphone type jack to RCA then have that go to my receiver(the shannagin that has the speakers hooked up to it) so basically All I need to know is will this work or is it not worth it?
It work's. You can find the cable online. I use an optical wire for my sound so it's very easy to hook up. (Your sound card has to have that option though if you plan on using an optic wire + your TV). If you have HDMI on your tv buy yourself a cheap 4 port switch so you can press a button to change your hdmi.
