For Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and PC
As soon as you take the G25 out of it's box, you can feel the quality. Everything is rock solid. The gas pedals are made of metal, the steering wheel is made of Aluminium and Hand-stitched leather, and even the stick shift, which by the way has six gears, is made of metal and has a leather cover and head. You can see and feel the quality - this thing isn't going to break easy, and the look is just awesome - just like in a real car!
Stability
A Problem I have had with previous racing wheels, is the stability. The pedal box slides forward when you hit the breaks, and the Steering wheel slides off the table. This is not the case here. The racing wheel and gear stick are both fastened tightly with two plastic fasteners, and can be locked! When you press the fastener down, it locks itself, and it won't loosen until you press it again. This means that the wheel and gear stick is fastened tightly to the table, without the dangers of loosening.
The Pedal "box" is a BIG improvement from Logitech's previous models. it is big and heavy, and has a bunch of rubber patches underneath to stop it from sliding. And my god, does it work! I can barely push it forward with my hands without picking it up! Also, if you happen to have a carpet, you simply press a button and "carpet claws" pop out.
Features
One of the biggest features in the Logitech G25 is the introduction of the new gear stick and clutch pedal! The gear stick is surprisingly strong and sturdy and has six gears in the "H-format" (see picture below). Some older games do not allow you to use a six-gear gear stick, so logitech has given the gear stick two different modes. Changing modes is easy, and you can switch it to only "sequential" gearing (push the stick up to go up, and down to go down). The gear stick also has 8 buttons, and an arrow pad, which are good for changing cameras, moving around the menu, and other small tasks.
The pedals look, as I stated earlier, great. But it's not only the look that is great, the pedals have some great performance as well. The biggest difference compared to the regular racing wheel systems, is that there are three pedals. Logitech have added a pedal for clutch! The Pedals have different resistance to make it feel more like a real car - gas and clutch are the easiest; the brake is harder. The pedals are big enough, and aren't too cramped, and the stainless steel makes it feel like a dream - true quality!
The racing weal looks great. The hand-stitched leather makes it feel good in your hand, and the Stainless steal center makes it look like it's taken from a real car. There are shift paddles behind the wheel, also stainless steel, if you want to use those instead of the gear stick when in sequential gearing. The Force feedback is amazing, and the wheel can be rotated 900 degrees. Again - true quality!
10/10
This racing wheel is the best racing wheel I have ever tried, and easily gets a 10/10 from me. The look is great, the performance is great, and the overall quality is awesome. This isn't a wheel that breaks after 6 months. At 300 dollars, it is pretty expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. A must for driving game enthusiasts!
