So when I draw your attention to examples of American terrorism, I'm wrong and a broken-record player, whilst your government's actions are completely excusable and defendable, right? Riiight. Might as well reloop back three pages to Braddock's point on double-standards employed by Americans concerning their government and elections.God Save the Queen wrote:

Guys D&ST isn't some intellectual playground where the great philosophers and academics of BF2S cluster together to talk about high-brow topics. Most of the people that post here (including myself on certain topics; I am not exempt) are as biased as shit and don't deserve to "hand-pick" a community of like-minded individuals. It's almost as if this is an effort to create a 'debating utopia' where there is in fact no debate because all of the 'controversial' and challenging views are eliminated and outruled.

Well when you are done giving Braddock his foot massage and hand feeding him grapes take a look at your own double standards on how England has meddled in the rest of the worlds business for centuries.Uzique wrote:

Yeah I know, you mean the PR maps with normal gameplay. I don't know if anyone does that, there's barely 50 servers on normal pr, never mind normal gameplay with pr maps.usmarine wrote:

I was warned seriously for all of the posts that I made that overstepped the BF2s mark... he's impartial and fair.usmarine wrote:

@ Deez: Our own history of terrorism and/or imperialism isn't really what I'm getting at, is it? My point was that you're making a huge deal out of terrorist associations in your electoral campaigns. Nobody here gets their panties in a twist because an MP or the PM have ties to terrorism or imperialism. In fact it's common knowledge that most of our 'right-wing' conservative party are just the relations of the old Toff imperialists; in terms of ideology anyway, and sometimes even in terms of lineage and family. Nobody makes breaking news out of such things like you do in the States. You act like the association is an outrage, here in the UK we just press on and deal with it.
@ GS: Rhodes scholars? There's a difference between wanting an intelligent discussion and talking about great intellectual or philosophical ideas. Just because I refuse to communicate in one-line grunts it doesn't mean I'm looking to engage with Leo Strauss or George Orwell.

And how am i getting on your nerves ? ... because i argue against what you believe in or because i'm a Euro and shouldn't have opinions on US related topics ?

i didnt say that. but for election stuff, your opinions are, well usueless since you have no control over it.Varegg wrote:

Come on none of the speculation and discussion here actually has any real consequence or action. This is just a place for an international community to debate issues and enjoy some banter over key topics. I don't think anyone is coming to these Forums for genuine political information or guidance. I'd be very surprised if a Republican was persuaded to vote Democrat because of a thread on these Forums- or vice versa.
Everyone's opinion here on these Forums is "useless" in a real practical sense.
libertarian benefit collector - anti-academic super-intellectual. http://mixlr.com/the-little-phrase/
not really. i agree what we talk about is useless, except for elections. that is something we americans can have control over so to speak.
