I was searching for deals on an N96 on Google Shopping when I came across this site:
http://store.fastcommerce.com/prod_gadg … 42385.html

I was wondering if the site is legit or not.  There are a ton of sites like that selling the N96/N95 for cheap.  If I pay through paypal will I be protected if the seller doesn't deliver?  So what do you guys think, is this legit or not?

edit: more sites like that

With grammar like that... I'd say it's not legit.

Lol I remember that he put it in such a nasty way .

$300 is way too cheap for an N96 let alone a unlocked one. Too good to be true what good would they do themselves selling it so cheap.

I'd say looking around for a decent contract. You'll be surprised at what good deals you can get if you know how to haggle. Plus that sort of phone would probably be much better used on a unlimited data plan.

I have no reason to say it isn't legit. It's hosted through "fastcommerce" which is certainly a legit company. Your details are passed through securely with SSL certificates and all seems to be in order. Problem is that the price is a bit crazy. Phone them up.

I could set up a site on there that's just as secured in 5 mins with fake information then go on a spending spree with his card details, I can't see it being legitimate, not at that price.

question on the N96

it says it includes GPS.  Does that mean that I don't need to pay my wireless carrier an extra fee to use the GPS?  Or does it mean that I have the ability to use GPS as long as I pay the carrier?

I think with the N96 you will have the GPS for free, as in it will tell you where you are, but you have to pay extra for route guidance.

Or you could just torrent/newsleech TomTom Mobile

my guess is you will have it free for a month or half a year. then after that it would be an extra fee

Straight up GPS is free. Altho for a quicker fix on your position you can set it to use assistes GPS, which sends out a data signal and the network then triangulates your position. This is done by sending packet data over GPRS, only about 5kb at a time.

Also the new version of nokia maps (the one included on the N96) will only show you routes and stuff if you buy the license to voice navigation. The old one used to show the route and track along it but without voice guidance for free. Bump if you ask me

Wrong. Because you have to be verified with paypal first, and FastCommerce is.

Verified with Google, Authorize, Paypal and UPS. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Call them.

The forums are also there for your aid. I don't see anything illegal about it.

Well I can do the waiting, I need a phone and luckily for me I've saved up 400 dollars. Lets just hope I can still get it at that same price.

I'm hoping the Euros get screwed over again and it comes out at 550 USD instead of 550 Euros.

I wouldn't guess it would be any lower than that though.
