Meh, sounded like more of the same boring crap if you ask me. I only watched a little of the end though.

Mhm, I found the beginning of her speech to be somewhat refreshing while I thought the latter part of her speech was exactly what you'd expect from a politician.

You've got a percentage from an unnamed source. It must be accurate.

They are talking about a small demographic "Iowa’s evangelicals".  It also says 30-50 percent according to AP (which I cant find directly from AP).

I heard most of it, cringed through most of it. She spewed the same crap about McBush being a war hero in Nam. How she was the governor of piss cold Alaska and how her extensive executive duties included the crucial decisions of having the local potluck at the Whatchumacall Community Center, or Moe's Tavern.

Seriously, what was wrong with choosing a strong candidate like Romney? Choose someone who backs your strengths, not go for a cheap political play and disregard the drawbacks.
Actually many conservatives are going to vote for McCain because of his vp pick, if McCain went for Romney many people would be staying at home.
But will it be less than the people driven off?

And why has lowing suddenly become obsessed with Oprah? Really odd.

Even Hillary's old supporters who originally didn't go for McCain will vote for him. Don't know what you mean about Oprah though.

Where do you get your figures from? Are there concrete polls that shows the more conservatives are voting McCain because of the VP pick?
Is there evidence that shows that Hilary's old supporters are going to McCain? Or are you pulling these claims from the bottom of the well of lost hope?

The attack on the "bridge to nowhere" seemed a little stupid.

This seems relevant...considering the massive flip-flop she did on it. I don't think she is a reformer as much as a political opportunist.

Sounds familiar. You'd have to be a fool to actually think that all of the candidate weren't "political opportunist"

Oh, of course. I wasn't exonerating Obama at all. I'm just pointing out that Palin has changed her issues in order to suit whatever the general mentality is of her constituency. In her mayoral race, stressing the socially conservative issues in a town that is/was mostly Christian or turning Christian. In 2006, and now, she ran against corruption and pork. But her actions don't necessarily reflect what she says...she did support the "Bridge to Nowhere", after all. It is the most egregious example of pork in recent memory.

Sarah admitted that she hadn’t paid much attention to the war in Iraq, but she knew enough to rightly call it a “task from God.”
Holy crap.

I figured that too ... reminds me of The West Wing in Season 6. A lot of Palin's views seem less republican-esque than I thought they would, some of what she says does make a lot of sense. But there's a reason she's a VP contender and Obama is a P contender. Regardless, it could give Palin something to work on in 4/8 years if she wants to expand.

lol, a Palin / Clinton campaign ... that would be something

so all the people here that like palin are also against abortion in all cases, creationism being taught in school, believe that the United States is on a mission from god in a iraq, dont believe global warming is being caused by man and believe people in high positions of government can use their authority for activites that are outside of the law?  just checking.

yes

there is no difference.  the same people that talk about how sharia law is ruling the middle east fail to see the direct parallel with christianity in the United States.

I'm sure I can find the middleground somewhere.

I'll try this wearing a "I support Palin hat" and see how I go.

I am against abortion, but only after 3 months of conception. Before then the fetus cannot feel pain.

Creationism should be an option. I want my Government to uphold my rights and freedom to choose what I am taught. Creationism is also to strong a word, I want Intelligent Design taught. There is a huge difference.

The United States is not on a mission from God in Iraq, but we are there to spread the faith of the Lord just as Saint Paul courageously had before us..

Global warming has never been proven. It's all part of the natural Earth cycle. We've had Ice Ages before. And stages the planet warms up. This time it's warming again.

Those in high positions should be above most laws, how else could they enforce them?
