I dunno, I have taken every math class that is required for an engineering degree.... SOME teacher have not allowed any calculators, but any teacher who did would let you use what ever... Though some standarized tests and what not I have heard do not allow above the TI 83...
In my first year engineering, we can only use scientific calculators in physics thermo etc classes, and no calculator at all in maths.
none of my engineering teachers have cared at all, they are all more worried about theory then math, just show your work.

Haven't come across any who require just a basic scientific calculator, hell I don't even really know anyone who has a basic scientific calcuator, every one I know have at least an 83, and I'd say most use the 89 titanium...
Yeh, I think the main reason is they just dont want to have to check them all. Tbh, I could get into most exams with one regardless.

The maths subject is a lot to do with graphing, matrices and the like - things that could be easily solved on G. calcs. I think that is the reasoning.

Oh well.

Did I ever mention maths? Lol. The maths (hardest class, even) are gonna be dead easy these three years. I've seen what we're supposed to learn, and I already know half of it, and the other half doesn't need more than a standard 2€ calculator.

I need it for electronics class, where we get to do stuff that needs more than just +/-/*, and where I have 100% permission to use my computer at all times

The Ti-emulator and Graph Calc look nice, I'll look into them. I remember Graph Calc, my mom's old boyfriend (who died) used it. I loved messing around with it
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Texas Instruments GDCs are awesome.

Just get a TI-84, you won't regret it.

Yep

I got through 5 years of GCSE maths and ad maths (which is essentially AS level maths) without ever using a graphing calculator. Anyway, I can't remember the model of mine ... I had it yesterday but I've misplaced it -
You aren't allowed calculators that can do tasks like integrating, differentiation, solving equations etc for A(S) level maths.
I don't think graphing calculators are allowed.

It depends.
In IB Calculus exams they reset your GDCs RAM before the exam starts and you are allowed to use it only in paper 2 me thinks.

but a scrap paper and a lot of trials helped me more than the GDC.

had exactly the same problem and i just downloaded dreamcalc, works wonderfully (can copy all your work you have done in it including text format of the calculation and an easy to use graph system.

so I bought this

But im guessing you cant use it or something (If you can, get it, its an AMAZING calculator, it WILL do anything [math related]

Sorry I cant be of any help
do that    i <3 my ti 84 plus
TI-89 > TI-84 > All

I used an 84 Plus for a year and a half

Used the 89 for a year

Seriously, at least 7x better... (not just the equations in it, but the display and the copy paste and just all the fucking functionality. So worth the extra 40 bucks or whatever)
When I bought mine they only had the Ti-83+. I've had it about 6 or 7 years now.

I don't think graphing calculators are allowed.
Wish my calculator would do integration and differentiation Never was a fan of it ... it probably does has the function somewhere, but I always just did it by hand for the most part
