Even if they did have F-14s and MIG-29s, the Israeli airforce would still rape them if they dared take to the skies.
Actually the Iranians do have F-14s. We sold them F-14s back in the day when the US was propping up the Shah of Iran. But when the revolution happened, the american mechanics sabotaged the planes avionics and the US stopped sending parts for the F-14s. So they are there, they are in like new condition but they don't fly. They would be great museum pieces now.

Their avionics weren't "sabotaged" per se. The avionics on jets we sell foreign militaries (with a few exceptions) aren't the same as the ones we buy for ourselves...namely the radar system.

And those jets are nowhere near "like new condition". If they were, they would be able to fly. But you are right about one thing: the only thing those jets are good for at this point are museum displays.

Didn't they use these planes in the war with Iraq as radar platforms? Without the phoenix misssile system the planes loose a lot of their capability to engage opfor at greater distance, but i thought they were used as a radar platform to screen for Iraqi planes.

They spend a lot of their time arguing over whether they do or not.

I didn't say they didn't have a radar...just that they didn't have the same radar as the US model.

I don't know if they have the same radar. Anyway, the planes were delivered between 1975 and 1979, so without spare parts and maintenance they seem pretty useless to me atm.

They are fairly useless and have been for years.
