That's right: nobody ever gets a mortgage, eh? Only irresonsible people get their homes repossessed, eh? Companies letting people go because the economy has been mismanaged never gives rise to such a thing. Neither does the impact of repossessions having a knock on effect on house value for EVERYONE, eh? Neither do interest rate increases, eh? They have no impact on the economy now do they usmarine? Are you sure you aren't a McCain economics adviser?usmarine wrote:

I said people were short sighted for living outside of their means to pay for things.
Then you had a go at me saying what about people who bought houses and are now losing them because of debts and that its not their fault.
You just did a U turn on a motorway! The forum police have caught and fined you.
Companies often fail 'Oh Wise One' when the market for their product collapses because people have become poorer as a consequence of mismanagement of the economy of the national level. Oh that's right: there's only one way anything can happen in usmarine world!! Shit regulation of banking at the governmental level had nothing to do with the current mess, eh usmarine??usmarine wrote:

Oh boy. This is going to take a while to respond. I'm not directly arguing taxes is the answer (by either candidate). So check later...CameronPoe wrote:
No, I am suggesting that the total opposite is applicable in this situation. Trickle-up - improving the spending power of consumers through tax breaks as against investors because evidently bolstering the financial wellbeing of investors (as occurred under Bush) failed miserably and the average American is now poorer (creating a downward spiral of contraction). The increased spending power, although the risk of inflation would exist, should help increase the demand market again and allow capital to flow from those withholding it under the current economic climate.
You do know how Ireland attracted businesses investment, which in turn created jobs right?
The difference being, it is a legitiment argument. The liberals of the US want exactly what they are accused of wanting, and I am against it.sergeriver wrote:
The Liberal argument is tiresome as well tbh.lowing wrote:
Well Serge, I have not made a racist comment, here or anyewhere else for that matter. I do not compare Obama and Oprah, I have shown that Oprah is largely the reason for Obamas just add water instant success. She gave him exposure in Chicago and came out full force to fund and endorse a campaign.sergeriver wrote:
Kind of a racist comment to make. Why compare Obama to Oprah? Why not to a white person? You don't like Obama just coz he's black and you should admit it. Lame.
The fact that she is black really has nothing to do with it. The fact that Obana is black really has nothing to do with it. The fact that he is a liberal has everything to do with it.
See it as I called it along time ago. Say somethinng against Obama and you are a racist......tiresome, predictable and typical, but tiresome.
This is a far cry from inventing an argument such as racist or generalizing to avoid the issue at hand.
I also notice that you did not actually challenge my response to your accusations, that pretty much tells me I might be right in my observations of it.
OK then let's reduce tax on business to 0%! Yay! Life will be sooooo good. Like rich people and business didn't get enough breaks under Bush to no avail...Pug wrote:

Marine you said:
"not the people who didnt live outside their means in the first place, no. duuuuuuuuhhh" which implies based on the fact that it was a reply to poes comment on people losing their homes that these people have not lost their homes because they weren't living outside their means.
I said only the other day that the people who are having money troubles in the UK was because they were living outside of their means which was short sighted, to which you replied:

So there you were supporting the fact that people had to get loans to be able to get houses, that they have no choice if they want a house and now your reversing your statement. To a position of people mismanaging their funds and that they should think of these things. O wait wasn't that exactly what I was saying the other day.like a house and car right? those are outside most peoples means, hence they have to borrow or "rent."

OK, Question to the Euro's that know so much.
If the US system is not working, what country should we copy?

Now you just ruined a good post with the last sentence Vilham - i suggest that both of you edit the last post you made and we can keep this discussion going with a minimum of both hidden and open insults ... keep it civil ...
