School districts, at least in these parts, already have different text books for teaching the same subject, different requirements for graduation (yes there are state minimums, but the filler is up to the district), and a few other things. Why do they think they need to step in and make a uniform rule for the dress code?
Hell, it wasn't until I was a senior in high school, back in the mid '80s that they changed the dress code that even allowed us to wear shorts, and even after they changed it the shorts couldn't be more than 3" off the knee. Do you know how hard it was back them to find long shorts!?
I agree with the State overstepped bounds option, but didn't vote. Personally, after all Siplin went through, it was one of his few bills and I think the Republicans let him have it. I really can't see it lasting past a lawsuit.
