I am tired of this. A year of posting tech queries and BF2 still doesnt work (Multiplayer only, single works fine)

As soon as I click on a server in the browser, the music fades out, the mouse disappears and the game freezes.

Vista Home Basic.

Newest Video drivers, yes.

Uninstalled and Re-Installed a bazillion times.

Deleted folder in my documents.

Someone mentioned something about a registry cleanup, but I have no confidence doing this, as I am not as proficient in vista.

Please, for the love of god, bf2s. I am at my wits end.

(Edit) Patch 1.41 only.

Is it even worth the trouble? If you were willing to try anything, you WOULD format, as that is probably the best solution as you've been troubleshooting for over a year. But seriously, is it even worth the hassle of any other troubleshooting? Just do it the easy way as it's been a YEAR already!

Well now, this is exciting. Instead of just a crash, I got an error message.
Making progress here.
memory.dll: thread 3728 is deallocating main thread memory.

Try compatibility mode for XP. BF2 has always fucked up for me if I didn't do that in Vista.

If you haven't reformatted in a year, it's really time for it, anyhow. I would never be able to live with a year-old Windows install, six months MAX!

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity.
