thats because thats how consoles work, it doesnt make them '1337', any console you can think of you can take a game out of the box and play, purely because no developer in their right mind would attempt a craze of replacing components in consoles and you do in PCs. the console equivalent on buying a new graphics card is buying a next gen system, try running MGS4 in your PS2, that may sound like a stupid argument, but its exactly the same principle as yours (with the fact that the MGS series is not on PC format taken out of the equation). you could say that a PC is more '1337' as it only needs tweaking to play newer games as opposed to buying a whole new system, probably a lot more money overall anyways
Don't get me wrong, I love my PC, I tweak it from time to time, but how much does it cost every tweak? New GPU $200-300, and a console lasts 8 years without spending one buck, at least my PS2 did.
you make a good point, but in my view i factor in the lowered price of PC games, and however much it costs to really upgrade to the minimum needed,as well as the extra tasks that a computer can accomplish, however the latter are becoming more obsolete as the next gen consoles are digressing to those tasks, especially the PS3 with internet capabilities
I with Mkxiii on this, with the ammount it costs for a gaming pc, its made up on the low price of the games that are release for it. Instead of paying £40 and sometimes more for a PS3 game, you can be paying sometimes £15 for a brand new game up to £30.
I also get where your coming from Serge, once you have paid for the PS3, thats it for a good 5 years or so, all you need to buy is games and still have exceptional quality on some of the games.
