So i was watching this TV show, and it stated "The average keyboard has more germs and bacteria than the average family toilet seat"

So i thought about it, and i realised, i had NEVER cleaned my keyboard, and i mean, NEVER

For the 1.5 years + id had it, i had never touched it with any kind of cleaning utensil,

so i pried open the keys, and to my horror, under the wonderful keys......;.

So i cleaned it good, even washed all the keys in boiled water, lol

So i urge you, pull apart your keyboards, and take some pics of the filth

(I hereby am not held responsible for any nubs that break their keyboards, i do however hold the right to lol at them. Hard.)

Same with me. There's so much shit behind the keys on my G15, once I tried to take the keys off but I didn't want to force and break them So the shit can stay there..

I've completely disassembled both versions of the G15, the first one was tougher, but a good cleaning won't break them.

Usually I just pull out all the keys, throw 'em in a big glass jar with some warm water and mild soap, shaky shaky, dry-y dry-y, and voila. Work the base with a dry rag and vacuum and you've got a brand new keyboard.

In case someone asks, the first G15 died from a 'tragic' LAN accident. Now I've got a little roll up keyboard that is practically one piece of rubber for LANs.

I take my keyboard along for a shower once a month. As a great effect, both the keyboard and me are clean afterwards

Just use a good vacuum, then you won't have to take it apart. But I bet it's your damn cats that are the reason your keyboard was so dirty. Your own fault, really.

But the air compressor just puts it back in the air leaving it free to come down again. The vac gets it out and keeps it out.

they are incredibly cheap nowdays.
even a logitech keyboard costs around 10-15€

I blow out my keyboards with canned air, ever so often, and I always wash my hands before I use my G11.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I just took it apart, cleaned it all and left the keys soaking in Head and Shoulders and boiling water for a few hours.

I used a screwdriver to pull my keys off and cleaned the bit below with the hoover, but I had to spend half an hour looking for my D key after it went flying. I found it lodged inside my printer
