I'm sure the content of the video below has been discussed elsewhere, but I pose a specific question.
I am eclectic in my spiritual views. For me I explain it best like this; say you are asked to chose between hanging with Darth Vader or Yoda.
I would choose to be aligned with Yoda.
That makes me inclined to support the Light side of The Force. Or, one could say I am predisposed to lean towards a Chritian point of view.
It's instinctual. I want to do good, not evil.
So on so simple of a premise, I cannot reject God.
That aside, I can assure you that no matter how many times I had been asked the question, no matter how tired I was, I would never mistakenly call myself a Catholic.
Even if I was drunk, I would likely cause a scene slandering Catholics, rather than confuse my religion with being say...a Muslim.
There is no chance I would make this slip because as odd as my views may seem to some, I am absolutely well versed in what those views are.
He didn't catch it, the reporter did. Case is made and closed in my opinion.
It has been popular, ever more so over the last ten years for black Americans to embrace Islam.
Louis Farikan, Mike Tyson, Cat Stevens and many others have done so and suffered the reprecussions of a few radicals bringing war to our soil. Cat Stevens is on a terrorist watch list, and he's a singer, fer Christs sake.
So for those who have a faith, would you mistake it?
Sad that in this world a Muslim cannot be President of The United States, for there is nothing more wrong with Islam than there is with Christians, or Jews or others. If Barrack had the courage to confess his Muslim faith I would admire him for it. I may not vote for him, but then again...
