so you suggest she isn't a responsible parent? because you assume she didn't teach her daughter about her vertical smile?[pt] KEIOS wrote:
it is a question of responsibility, to teach your kids about protection. i even know a muslim woman who´s still a virgin, but whos mother went to the doctor with her to get the pill, when she was 15. Either you face reality and care for protection against possibilities or you don´t and have a pregnant teenage daughter....
The argument kind of ends there. We don't know the details.CoronadoSEAL wrote:
how do you know she wasn't on the pill and he wasn't wearing a condom? oh. you don't.[pt] KEIOS wrote:
What kind of Mother are you, when you let your teenage girl get around without protection? Doesn´t seem, that she did care for her... All Mothers of young women i know, made sure that their daughters have protection like pills or condoms....
Granted we know that Palin is prolife, and probably prefers abstinence and that may have played into the teenage pregnancy dilemma -- but we don't know whether the kid was using any protection; protection can fail.
We do know how she is handling it, they are staying together and keeping the baby. I think the baby's father was with the family at the RNC (?)
@The OP: A hit piece.
I heard there are actually people who went to Alaska with sums of money to offer for "Palin stories", basically beating the trees to find dirt -- I don't know how true that is, but it would not surprise me.

This is a joke right? You think 2 weeks of scrutiny on her background = 7 months of scrutiny on his? Everyone has already plundered Obama's past, they did that months ago. Palin has so many holes in her history, that anyone with an open mind can see she is merely doing what she does best...FEOS wrote:

OK, that's the Anti-Palin side of things ... it would be nice to see the Pro-Palin side.
Far more stories questioning her background and actions than we've seen on Obama. Most of the questioning stories on him regarded more current issues (Rev Wright) or his acquaintances (Ayers)...not his experience or lack thereof.
I have yet to see a story investigating Biden's background to the extent Palin's is being investigated. And that's not for lack of searching, either.
I'm all for people learning more about the candidates' backgrounds and political records. I just wish the same scrutiny would be applied to all four equally.
Looking pretty and getting away with things because of it.
I don't think they'll win, but it won't surprise me if they do. America is all about letting the hot girl become the hero, especially recently.
Totally off topic, but I always love seeing that quote in your sig that you take credit for, seeing as how you didn't come up with that. Unless you died in 1995...

I never said 2 weeks of scrutiny = 7 months of scrutiny, because there hasn't been seven months of scrutiny.oChaos.Haze wrote:

Where are all these stories then? Just how has Obama's background and political record been "plundered"? He doesn't have much of the latter, so I guess that's one explanation. Where are the stories on any questionable things he said or did as a law professor? As a community organizer? As a state senator? Nobody's looking into those things, even though they supposedly make him ready for the job of President.
Same for Biden. Where are the stories on his Senate voting record? Where are the stories on his previous campaigns and what he did or didn't promise then?
They simply aren't there. Neither of those two is (or has been) scrutinized to the degree we're seeing with Palin right now.
