File Savr - Rapidshare, but better

Note, I am a die hard Dropbox fan, and refuse to use anything else for my personal file sharing because of the interface, BUT:

About a month ago, I booted into the Ubuntu LiveCD and started up GParted to fix up my partition tables, long story short, I ended up with a COMPLETELY WIPED Harddrive,

The contents of that hard drive: 2 LIVE Websites that were down for 2 weeks(I also ran the server). The only copy of the First Days footage of my 6 month old baby brother, 100+Gb of Movies and Recorded TV shows and many other smaller things.

Now as much as I love Dropbox, because they're still in Beta, they only hand out 2Gb/person(I managed to score everyone in the BF2s Shared box 5GB for free) and Raw DV Video is 1.8GB/HOUR, we had 3 hours, so there goes my Dropbox.

It's not as good as Rapidshare because of the amount of files on Rapidshare. There are ... some boards that 99% of all the files are hosted on Rapidshare servers. So it may be better technically, but right now pretty much everything most people need is hosted on RS - it's just a matter of finding the links.

All it takes is a forum load of revolutionaries, then they tell their friends, and they tell their friends, and some of those friends post it on other forums, and BAM, success.

Rapidshare has tons of users, resulting in millions of files, which is what you want with rapidshare, correct?

Also, this fails compared to Rapidshare. Rapidshare gives you max download speed possible with your connection (700kb/s for me), while File Savr only gives me 18kb/s

Apparently their servers are just bogged with the billion people that suddenly came, they've been featured on a couple blogs, here, other places.

Everyone uses rapidshare for a reason: there are millions of files on it. When this File Savr place gets really popular then sure, people will emigrate, but people (including me) stick with RS now because it has all the files you will probably need. This isn't like Windows where you can just release updates and you are done ... uploading millions of files takes only one thing: time. And a newly released uploader does not have this, for a vast number of reasons.

I'm not bashing this place (tbh I haven't even looked at any links) but I do know that it will take time, if it succeeds, before it can be a glimpse as popular at least for downloading.
