i'm kind of on the fence for this one. on the one hand, i believe in compromise and the water fountain thing is ridiculous. on the other hand, this is extremely counterproductive in any workplace, not to mention a production line. i don't know if anybody here has ever read fast food nation, but meat packing moves fast people lose limbs to their jobs in meatpacking. they lose enough money providing one common holiday set. they can't afford a huge chunk of their workforce stopping five times a day. it just doesn't work. and for the record, its nothing that can't be put off until end of shift.

Refusing to take drunk passengers has nothing to do with religion if the driver is fearful for his\her safety for a start. There have been multiple court cases involving brain dead bitches thinking they can stay veiled and get a drivers license or a mugshot.

I worked on the security reception of Western Union's European headquarters for a while and I used to see the smokers on CCTV every day going for their breaks and they worked at least an hour and a half less than everybody else every day as a result of these breaks. The Muslim IT guys from Pakistan on the other hand used to work until about 7 or 8pm most evenings... one of them even gave me a present when Christmas came around! Damn Mooslims coming over here and fitting in and working hard in our western society!

Both parties are wrong. The Somalians thought they could just go in and then take a break everyday at sundown and the employers didn't take notice of this when they employed them in the first place. Lack of communication between the two is what led to this. I'm sure if the employers knew about this back when they hired everyone, they would've either not hired them OR at least make some proper plans in place for this sundown break that they have to have.
It's different with say, Christmas because the employers know that everyone takes a few days off around that time so they know how to plan for those events.
That's my take on it. The Muslims should've made this whole Ramadan thing an issue a long time before it actually started. Lack of planning and foresight and understanding of other cultures (both sides) is what leads to this shit.
