I just came up with this crazy idea. One day. Yes, one day. Valve should construct a giant theme park.

I have a name for it. It should be called Valveland. Kinda like Disneyland I suppose.

There would be different areas as you have probably already guessed.

1. Half Life Zone

The Half Life area would be one of the most popular areas. First of all there's a rollercoaster ride through the Citadel. There will be food dispensers like in City 17 train station, Dr. Breen speaking on video broadcasts, entertainers dressed up as metrocops and more attractions that revolve around Half Life. One other remarkable ride will be the walking strider. A giant robotic strider which walks around a certain area. There will also be a ghost house which would be set in Ravenholm. Scares for the whole family.

Since Portal is set in the Half Life universe, there would be a Portal fun house. It would work on advanced mirror and light technology. In it you wouldn't actually be able to create portals, but you would be able to walk through illusionary portals.

2. Team Fortress Zone

The Team Fortress zone will revolve around Team Fortress 2. It will be an area more for the kiddies, though teens and adults will still have fun here. You can go on a train ride through some of the popular maps. The characters will be walking around the main area which will be a replica of 2fort. Except instead of battlements and such, there'll be cafes and merchandise shops.

3. Counter Strike Zone

The Counter Strike area is for 16+ only as it is a paintball arena as such. You dress up in the CT uniforms of the terrorist outfits and play paintball in either Dust2 or Office.

4. Garrys Mod Zone

You get to run around with a fake phys gun in a replica of gm_construct. Fun. You can also throw around ragdolls of Combine and Citizens. This zone might be a bit tricky because Valve would need Garry's permission.

5. Every other Valve game zone

This would include Day of Defeat, Left 4 Dead and more. This area would just have smaller rides and whatnot. Perhaps with L4D there could be a scary maze that you walk through and things jump out at you.

In the DoD:S zone there shall be authentic world war 2 weapons which you can hold and fire. You can walk around the avalanche map and you can dress up in uniforms and get your photo taken.

6. Valve Arcade

A giant LAN and internet cafe. This would be awesome.

Now onto other issues...

Food

Here is a list of food which I quickly put together.

- Headcrab burgers
- Pyro's Burnt food
- Heavy's sandwiches
- Glados Bakery
- Pheropod
- Antlion leg kebab
- Vortigaunt's Kitchen

Security

The security guards will actually be dressed up as combine.

Repair and ride safety

All the repairmen and such will be dressed up as engineers from Team Fortress 2

Park Transport

The Monorails could be the Black Mesa Transit System.

Park Announcements

Park announcements such as when the park is closing, missing person etc, each in the appropriate zones, would have their own unique voices. For example, in the Half Life zone, it would most likely have the female Combine announcer, while the Team Fortress zone would have the female Team Fortress 2 announcer.
Thanks to PredatorKing for this suggestion.

I'd totally go there.

Dunno if it'll catch on though, I think the sheer factor of " An Amusement park built around video games"ll put it on the news for a couple weeks, and a flood of people will come,

Now whether it'll actually work out in teh long run is to be seen XD

Yeah, that would be really expensive and wouldn't really attract much of the non-gamer crowd. It'd probably be a huge failure, financially.

Do you realize how many nerds showed up for the Comic Convention of '08?
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.

Do you realize how much it would cost to build and operate a ridable, "giant walking strider?"

I know it is expensive beyond the extreme(exaggerating a little), I am just saying it would attract alot of people

That would be totally awesome. Although I might feel a bit ... awkward going there. Although, if you could play with a working replica of the Gravity Gun, I'd be all over it.

Yeah, I thinking just take a regular amusement park, Theme all teh rides to be Steam-esque, and maybe build a 2Fort replica for a food court.

Striders and Gravity guns, although won't happen.

Steamesque eh? Does that mean you need an Internet and an account to access any rides, along with actually downloading them whilst queuing?

I think they should make a movie of half life with a full blown budget.

but at the other hand "The Mist" that almost has the same kind of story line (@the begining of half-life)

They should make a general gaming park. Hell, they made a Hard Rock Park - they can make a video game park.

All the ultra nerds would be too afraid to go on the flip/inverted coasters though.

So your saying that once a year valve land would be profitable?
