Well, I've gotta buy a power supply anyway, might as well upgrade my old GeForce 7600GS while I'm at it.

I'm looking for a good price/power combo, naturally. I'm open to pretty much anything, however I do prefer nVidia over ATI ever since my last ATI fried itself (not to mention the supremely annoying driver issues it came with).

Right now I've got my eyes on the GeForce 8800GT 512mb. Let me know what you guys think.

A side note:

I'm comparing these two 8800s and I see little difference besides the Zotac is overclocked to 700MHz. Seems like a good buy. Compared to the really popular EVGA, anything I'm missing?

for a little more, you can get 40% more performance. the 4850 is at around $150 i think.

the 4870 is around $260, and it's a beast.

IMO ATi drivers are better than nVidia drivers now

For the price of the EVGA 8800, just search your couch pillows for some change and get the 4850, which rapes the 8800. Though if you cant do that, get the PNY 8800 GT ($110 + free shipping)... I got it a couple weeks ago and its great.

Looks like the HD 4850 is the best card in my price range. However, how much better is it than the Nvidia 9800GT? Is it worth the $30ish difference?
