Just started now, and I don't know how to fix it. If I turn UAC off i get that bullshit error saying that I don't have permission to do things so I'd like to keep UAC on if possible...

Anyone know how to fix it?

edit: oh an I'm admin on my pc, and am running it as admin and compatibility for xp.

Why the fuck haven't you disabled UAC since the first 2 minutes of installing Vista?

Seriously.

you wouldn't have to deal with it if you turned UAC off...

are you sure?  UAC is supposed to do that only when it is on.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control

my UAC has been off since day one and i haven't been bothered.

UAC off removes the warnings, dude. I turned that shit off before I even organized my task bar, which is one of the very first things I do after a fresh install.

Anyway, try running xfire as administrator.

Hmm... well thats what happens when I turn it off, oh well I can live with the errors. An admin can close this now...
Thanks all.

First off, they're not errors.

Secondly, your vista must be ass backwards of something.

try these methods: http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm

if it's off, it should be off - no warnings or anything.
