erm...no. but i had to call in air strikes danger close. you want to trivialize that stress and seeing a jet coming close to you and dropping bombs as simple.TheAussieReaper wrote:

I'm sure you've got plenty of flight time logged over combat zones as well. Tell us, from your wealth of knowledge and personal experience just what it's like to fly into hostile air space...
What, your not qualified to?
I guess then you don't know the first thing about air strikes since you've never been in the pilot seat during one.
In fact, other than giving co-ordinates from a map, there wouldn't be much else you would know about air strikes then is there?
I'm no military man but I'd imagine some of these things would have to happen for an airstrike:TheAussieReaper wrote:

There that's better.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

1) Request close air support from your commander
2) Commander requests close air support
3) CAS is granted
4) Coordinates are sent to commander
5) Coordinates are cross-checked with maps and such
6) Plane has to get there
7) Plane has to get authorization for weapons launch
8) Depending on the guidance system it could be very accurate (GPS or laser guided) or it could rely on the skill of the pilot and environmental factors
And remember, during all of that, you're probably receiving lots of gunfire while hiding somewhere with a walkie talkie.
Yeah. And marine did each of those steps personally.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

Marine you know nothing about SWFPAC you weren't even on a SSBN, Aussiereaper knows just as much as you do about those things.
