...I wasn't sure on my parts selection. Mainly my issue is with ram and the timings, what should i be going for in a machine that will be used for gaming mainly? Parts so far:

My question is around the ram and the timings i should be selecting, i also don't mind spending a few pennys more for the extra performance. I already have the gpu (9800gt) and sound card (x-fi), two sata hard drives and a 580watt Hiper Modular PSU etc etc...

MicroATX don't exactly have the best chipsets. I mean, it'll work, and it'll be great, but EP45-DS3 _{(or, Freez reckons you can still get the EP35)} imo.

The first ram will probably do the timings the last does too. Then again the £5 difference is not hooge. And I can tell the second ram is pretty excellent, I own the same set

A P45 baord is a waste for a CPU like that. You aren't even gonna be running at FSB1333, so even a G31 would suffice.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Ok thats cool i'll change out the cooler As for the G33 chipset board, i had been previously recommended that on these forums.

Depends on the dimensions of the mobo plate and if it has screwholes for ATX or not.

Many G31s just don't have any OCing options at all. G33 is a safer bet. Do some research.

An amount that reflects the price im paying for processor and ram each, so £45 ~ £60.
