Pfft ... I was the richest in the "Who is the richest member of BF2s" thread ... mommy/daddy money don't count.

(Anyway I don't know who is the richest on here ... I have a crappy computer and a Jeep with a big dent in the tailgate).

Invest in stocks? IDK how.

@DefCon how the fuck did you get 3% interest? I think BofA's regular savings is like .2% or something shitty like that.
Use internet banks ... much better rate of return.

As for stocks, I can council you ... but I would steer you toward mutual funds.
See, we need a financial thread or something... I have a checking account, a savings account, and a CD, but other than that I really have no idea how to do stock market investments or anything like that. How did you find those online banks? Why is the rate of return so high?

It took me a while to get my first job savings going.  Here's some actual advice.

#You first couple paychecks?  Spend the shit out of them.  Spend them all, don't bother saving.  You finally are self reliant, and you no longer have to use mommy to buy things.  Enjoy it for a few weeks, you earned it.

Then start saving.  I started with 10% of a paycheck, and worked myself up.  Each week is different depending on amount, but around 50% is good for me now.

Here's another bit of advice.  Your first few saving weeks?  Keep the saved cash in a box locked in your closet or whatever.  You're going to suck with cash for a while, so keep it available for a few weeks until you fully catch on.  NO, you won't miss the interest on a few hundred bucks over a month, I swear.

Also, to keep yourself entertained, every four or five paychecks, spend more.  Maybe only save 10 or 20%.  You're only 16/17 once, enjoy it bro.

after my first job i put almost all of it into savings. i would spend money only on things necessary and not blow it on random crap. after every 5 thousand i made, i would put it into a certificate of deposit to earn some high interest rates. and after doing that for a while i had thousands and thousands saved up and was able to buy myself a house at age 21. saving ftw! but i also did make a decent amount for the age (starting at 12/hour and moving up to 20)
