That explains it. They've got those damn things all over the place here. Traffic sucks and more than half the people don't know how to drive for shit...not to mention the massive number of immigrants who don't bother to learn US traffic rules and drive like they're still in their old country.

Personally, I'd hate to learn to drive here. Hell, I've driven for over 20 years, in many large metropolitan areas both in the US and abroad...and DC is the worst I've seen, bar none.

I drive through an 8-road circle every few days.  I hate it because people are fucking morons.

In the town here, with about 10k people, we have OVER TWENTY roundabouts! And it goes on like that over most of the island. They recently made one in a little village with a school of 70 pupils and 350 people living there.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Yeah I prefer to sit at traffic lights for 10min and pick my nose.

We have tons of roundabouts over here. Although multi lane ones are rare. You only have to signal once here and that's when you're leaving the roundabout.
Did they change the traffic regulation recently then? Because when I did my theoretical and practical exams a few years back I still had to signal right when driving onto one. Which is ridiculous of course since the only direction you can go is right, unless you're looking for a head on collision.

I suppose you could drive through them depending on what car you're in and what they've put in the center.

isn't this the case when you're leaving the first right exit...

you are heading towards a roundabout... blink right (keeps blinking) and you exit...

if you wanna go round, you blink left and then when you exit you blink right...

No when I did my exams you actually had to signal right when driving onto one, then signal when you were going to exit. Didn't matter even if you'd do a complete revolution and exit the same place you entered, you still had to signal right.

Modest, I'll quote from the book I studied.
Er zijn 2 uitzonderingen waar de richtingaanwijzers niet moeten worden gebruikt:
een voorrangsweg volgen die een bocht maakt;
het oprijden van een rotonde

Just stick to the outside lane until you get to the road you need to go to. If somebody's on the inside and wants to turn right while you continue on the rotary, that's their problem.

They changed it then. Which is good since that made no sense whatsoever. Did my exams in 2003, and I quote from my book:

Hoofdregel!
Wie een rotonde oprijdt of verlaat, moet de rechterrichtingaanwijzer aanzetten.

Well near where I live in about 16 square miles there are around 30 roundabouts that I know of.

I'm learning how to drive and I've come to realize that traffic circles are full of fail. They're confusing for one... I have to enter a certain lane to get out at a certain point but then I immediately have to switch lanes so I can make a turn to get on the street leading to my house. In theory I should enter another certain lane, but that would result in getting rear-ended by some speed demon.

Also, I'm in severe need of a "Student Driver" sticker so people don't get all raged when I take a bit slower than usual to, say, enter a traffic circle. Dorky, but I'd rather be dorky than have to fight some enraged middle-manager who ponders about where exactly he screwed up to end up in such a boring, go-nowhere job while driving.

lol thats nothing, within 16 square miles there are probably around 200 or so roundabouts . tbh I love roundabouts, they are much more efficient than traffic lights.
