Can you read while you wait for Windows to reboot?

I just had one of the imminent windows hangs where it becomes dead slow and a reboot usually fixes,

Because of Vista's ever-longing reboot times, I decided to grab my book and read it,

I managed to get through EXACTLY(Odd, eh) 2 chapters of CHERUB: The Sleepwalker From the moment I hit "Reboot" to the moment my Harddrive stopped buzzing loudly(IE most of windows and other apps was loaded, some other little things going on but still)

I'm considering reformatting, shame too, I just installed NotePad++ which is like the final app in my "Reformat Routine"(That long list of apps you always HAVE to install after a reformat, last one was 3 months ago)

P.S. I don't want to, nor will buy anything off of eBay
P.P.S. I use Vista X64 so XP themes don't work(Made by Microsoft or otherwise)
P.P.P.S This may or may not be considered Spam but it puts a new comedic look into the slowness of Windows.

If you need to reformat by the time you reach your "Reformat Routine", I think you're installing too much shit...

P.S. My windows boots fine
P.P.S. I don't have any books nearby that I can easily read in case my computer does hang

I'm not installing too much shit specifically, it;s just that I stretched my routine out over 3 months, if I actually use and need everything right away, I can go through it in 3 days.

And I keep my reading book on my desk beside my homework so it just happens to be convenient.
