Well last night I was playing some COD4 and 3 rounds came and went then round 4, I get in get a few kills and PB kicks me. Restart PB and COD4 and same problem. I then try and reinstall COD to fix the problem and I get the "Error 1719". I look it up online and attempt to fix it and still the same fucking thing.

I then do a system restore, rolling back to day 1. Still the same shit.

Restore 2, now it won't let me install my video driver and my keyboard driver.

I mess with it for 3hrs this morning and break down and call HP. I get connected to a call center in BFE and am told my computer is out of warranty we cannot help you unless you BUY a warranty!

I was flabber ghasted! I have 2 HP laptops, a HP desktop and a HP fucking plasma TV. He would not even steer me in the right direction on the web.
Fuck them, back to square one. I decide to do a full reinstall.

THE FUCKING PRODUCT KEY THEY GAVE ME FOR XP ARE INVALID!!

I am now heated, so I take a break and watch cartoons with my son. 2hrs later I go back to work.

I dig around and find a old copy of XP and use the key off of it and boom back in buisness. I then proceed to wipe 2yrs worth of HD and start from scratch.

Now 19hrs after problem one my computer is back up and running, but COD4 isn't working, system32 error......

Found the solution, but watching MMA so it can wait.

/end rant.

Sucks. I only needed to contact HP once to replace my PSU that had fucked up wiring and they replaced it without a hassle. So I have to knock on the wood for now. Did you have Vista before?

Well that sounds more like your own stupidity than anyone else's fault. As for the XP Key, on a pre-installed environment (like a computer you buy from HP or Dell  etc.) the key is locked to the version that they give you, meaning if you reinstall, you have to do it with their recovery program, not a generic XP disc, or they key will not activate. That part is no one's fault but your own.

And why the hell would you wipe your hard drives and reinstall XP because you are having a problem with COD4? Did you even try contacting PB or EA? Or did you try a registry repair program, or removing temp files? Seems to me like you skipped a ton of steps that you could have gotten it working, but instead you decided to redo everything and complain about having to redo everything. That was your own decision. Stop bitching.

So why do we buy OEM PC's again?

I did use their recovery cds. The keys they had for their disks did not work.

Error 1719 affects your whole computer, it wasn't just because of COD4.

Tried 3 different programs to try and repair it.

If you really want a play by play it would have taken up alot more then a page. I did wrote this just to vent.

But I am sorry oh internet god for offending you.

I don't plan on it. I am upgrading in Oct or Nov and am going to build.
