I want to have this locked in before I purchase it which will hopefully be within the next month.

Benchmarks, Future proof and such.

AMD has always been reliable and cheap for me.

If you can come up with a good system for about 1,200$ USD that'd would be great, I need help figuring it out anyways. I can't decide between intel and amd.

Just exclude the case/cd-rom/mouse/keyboard/monitor.

HD4870 - or X2 depending on budget
TRUE 120 or a freezer7pro if low on money
Samsung spinpoint F1 HDD

Will 1066 run on that mobo?
