I need an Ethernet Cable. I'm not sure how long but I'm thinking 50 feet would be good. I'm looking for a cheap one. Any ideas?

The shipping is almost more than the cable itself

I saw those, $16 seemed kind expensive considering half of it was shipping, I was hoping to find cheaper

And that's a Cross cable, the kind you use to connect 2 computers directly.

Check your local Craigslist listings, they tend to have "Various Lengths of Ethernet cable" almost all the time.

$8, free shipping, 30 feet.

DX doesn't seem to have anything longer.

I paid $35 for a 50 ft ethernet cable about 3 years ago. I'd say $16 is cheap. You can probably go to Wall Mart and get one for ~$10.

Wow. Expensive. I usually get them for £15/100 metres. Dunno where for the US, but just buy a big roll.

Not likely.  Places like wal-mart and best buy rape you on cables.  You might get a 3 ft cable for $10 but not likely a 50ft.

OP also checkout monoprice.com for cables.

Hop down to a local computer store for your UTP needs. They usually buy bulk and sell cheap. Perhaps even a hardware store can sort you out, but you may need to crimp it yourself. To be honest, though, the prices from newegg are good, even if you do pay $8 for shipping. It isn't really anything to get caught up in.

make one in potpinka's room for absolutely nothing or buy the cable, end connectors, crimping tool, and look up the standard straight through pattern

edit: thar you go

check your local home depot or lowes.  they have them, prices aren't that bad.
