Pretty much self-explanatory.
From what i know normally your RAM will run at the speed that your motherboard can support....If your board can only support up to speeds of 667mhz then 800 mhz will get clocked down to work with the board..if that makes any sense. If your board can support 800mhz but you only ever ran 667mhz. then aslong as you remove all the 667 sticks you should be fine...mismatched RAM gets slowed to the speed of the slowest stick...eg 2 800mhz and 1 667mhz run at 667...i think lol
Where did you get those components?

http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/t235154.htmlwell it will work. If you plug in the ram and are not overclocking yet, you can set your ram to run at up to 667mhz (or slower). But you won't regret that your ram can go faster than that once you start overclocking. If you run your ram at 667mhz (which should be 5:4 if your standard FSB is 533) and overclock your fsb to 640mhz your ram will be running at 800.

lol at the guy on that forum who posted the original question......
What would happen if I can faster ram. Maybe a ram at 800mhz. Is this possible to do on a motherboard that does not made for 667?
Don't laugh, that was Panda also.Afroman.exe wrote:

So did you end up trying it?
I'm going to the shop to get the stuff tomorrow.TheAussieReaper wrote:

Hoping that they'll have 667 though, as I already have 1 gb.
Should work fine. Just a bit slower.
I have 800MHz RAM running in my system with a bus speed of 667MHz.
Yes but there is no point. It will run at 667MHz.

Well, if I get a 800 in future, I might make use of it.DeathUnlimited wrote:

They didn't have 667 anyway, and now it's in and running smoothly.
