I found it funny that seth and the chick were yelling at each other like crazy in on scene, then he disappears into the other room, comes back with car keys and is completely calm, like impending doom isnt so impending anymore

It's just plain luck, really. You can't use logic to determine where they zombies would be, or why that wierd dude just ran outside, or how the old dude stopped the force of like five people, or how you rammed a table leg through a person, or why your shotgun is terrible.

My two cents: Everybody who makes these zombie games/movies all have different ideas about what is best to do, just as they would should the event actually occur, thus no one answer is known to be a correct one for all instances. Inevitably, some will think it best to leave, some to hunker down, with unforseen ambushes happening to either one.
