to be more specific, i have a USB t.v tuner, now i was rewiring my computer when i noticed the case of the usb was open, now i closed it up with tape and would have thought it should still work.

now i have all the drivers and software installed but when i plug the USB in, my computer doesn't recognise it, even with the T.V software up it still doesn't want to work.
it did work the other day and seems its just died on me or something

so im wondering is there anyway of repairing or troubleshooting the USB???

TYPO: "repair"

generally speaking... no.  unless you can identify what the problem is, chances are you'll have to get a new one.  ymmv however, so you might want to try a repair shop to see what they can do.

If you're good at soldering and can find the problem then it's probable that it can be repaired. It just depends on the problem. Could be that you have a damaged resistor or transistor that isn't easily repaired. Depends.
